HP 3PAR Service Processor Software 4.1.x Release Notes (QR482-96666)

In SPOCC, SP Process Status displays "Warning: spevent is currently not running"
but SPMAINT reports it as running (Issue 80638)
This inconsistency is due to the way reports for parent/child tasks are handled in SPOCC and in
SPMAINT. In this case, the SPOCC display is the correct one.
If you are logged in to the SP as spdood and can open a command prompt, run the ps -efH
command to view the correct status. The following example shows a parent/child task that should
be reported as running”:
stapp 23333 1 0 Apr05 ?
00:00:00 /sp/prod/code/csst/bin/SPtransfer
stapp 23334 23333 0 Apr05 ?
00:05:12 /sp/prod/code/csst/bin/SPtransfer
SP Setup Wizard time zone selections in drop-down list are not displayed correctly
in Internet Explorer 8 (Issue 85733)
With Internet Explorer 8, the Time and Region page of the SP Setup Wizard and the Configure
Time page of the Storage System Setup Wizard display incorrect data in the Region and
City/Country drop-down lists after you change your choice of continental region and city/country.
Workaround: Click Cancel, and then click Yes to confirm the cancellation. Then, restart the wizard
(in the SP Setup Wizard, all the previously entered data is saved). On the Time and Region or
Configure Time page, select the correct time zone and do not change it.
To prevent this issue, make the correct selection on the Time and Region or Configure Time page
and do not change it, or use a different browser, such as Internet Explorer 9 or Firefox.
Date changes to “NaN undefined, NaN” when Back button is clicked in the SP Setup
Wizard (Issue 85736)
On the Time and Region page of the SP Setup Wizard, if you click the Back button after setting
the date and time and before applying the settings, the date box is set to NaN undefined, NaN.
When this occurs, you must reset the date to the correct date before continuing, so as to prevent
unknown side effects.
Rescue file generation is missing DB sequence type (Issue 85542)
When the SP creates a rescue file, it backs up database tables. These tables depend on sequence
types when creating new rows. However, the sequences are not backed up when the database
tables are backed up. This causes an issue after you use remote upgrade to upgrade the SP software
from version 2.5.x in which the user profile records (including the user profile, notification settings,
site settings, and so on) are not created at first. The number of failed attempts is equal to the number
of existing records.
Workaround: Create the user profile record again until it succeeds. For example, if there are two
existing user profiles, create the first new record three times.
Clicking the Back button on Finish confirmation page of SP Setup Wizard will cause
accidental SP reboot (Issue 85287)
If you click the Back button of the browser on the confirmation page of the SP setup wizard, the
wizard will re-run all the steps from Configure and verify Remote Support connectivity on.
Workaround: Follow the instructions displayed on the confirmation page, which indicate that you
should close the browser when all the wizard steps are completed.
Changing NIC settings causes screen to flicker (Issue 74655)
When you change NIC settings by using SPMAINT on the SP, the terminal screen may flicker.
