HP 3PAR Service Processor Software 2.5.x Release Notes (QR482-96663)
Improper Default Disk Logging May Be Set (Issue 62583)
If you use the Guided Maintenance scripts to run servicemag start in preparation for disk
replacement, Guided Maintenance scripts will propose a default value for the logging parameter
in servicemag start. In most cases, the default value for logging is appropriate. However, if
one disk is Degraded and another FC disk is Failed, Guided Maintenance will set an
inappropriate logging value of YES. Make sure to select the proper logging value.
Workaround: Verify and select the proper logging value.
Node Rescue and Patch Revert (Issue 62918)
It is a known limitation of the CLI that neither the node rescuing or the patch reverting histories will
be displayed and checked. Therefore, patch revert is not supported.
Running "Retrieve System Crash Dumps" on InForm OS 3.1.1; Systems Displays an
Error Message (Issue 62027)
Running Retrieve System Crash Dumps (SPMAINT menu=4.2) on InForm OS 3.1.1 systems causes
the error message: head: cannot open
/sp/prdall/data/files/1400299/0/crashdmp/185/swoosh/crash.bt for reading:
No such file or directory whiff failed (1) Failure during dump analysis - no result to transfer to be
displayed. The transfer will continue to take place.
Guided Maintenance Does Not Support Concurrent Disk Replacement (Issue 61215)
The Guided Maintenance scripts do not support the concurrent replacement of physical disks.
Workaround: You must wait for servicemag start or resume operation to complete before
replacing a new disk with Guided Maintenance.
Cage Type Images in the Guided Maintenance May Vary Depending on Cage Type
(Issue 57550)
Guided Maintenance procedures for add magazine, drive power supply replacement, and drive
magazine replacement may show DC2 cage images when DC4 images would be appropriate.
The Guided Maintenance Cannot Replace Disks Without a PDID (Issue 48824)
The Guided Maintenance Disk Replacement procedure may not be used to replace physical disks
that do not have a PDID (unadmitted disks). Such disks display “---” as their PDID.
The Response Time in Guided Maintenance for Adding Magazines May Experience
Delays (Issue 48400)
When using Guided Maintenance scripts to add new drive magazines, the user may notice a
significant delay while new magazines are recognized and undergo any necessary firmware
upgrades.
New Warning for the S-Class and T-Class Battery Replacement Procedure in the
Guided Maintenance (Issue 46353)
Text was added to S-Class and T-Class Storage System battery replacement to warn the user of a
possible degraded state for a newly replaced battery. Also, showbattery -s output was added
for S-Class and T-Class Storage Systems at InForm OS 2.3.1 and higher. Do not use showbattery
-s on systems with InForm OS 2.2.4 or lower, as that option is not supported on those InForm OS
levels.
Invalid Warning Message (Issue 33083)
When using SPMAINT, a user may see the following message:
