systemVerification
Runs a suite of diagnostic tests on a switch or a chassis.
Synopsis systemverification [-parameters | -short ][-unit id]
Description Use this command to run a comprehensive, system-wide test on a switch or a chassis. The
command initiates a burn-in run on all slots in a multi-bladed system. When issued with the
optional -unit parameter, this command tests a single blade in a multi-blade system.
All of the burn-in features are operational during the systemVerification command. Use
burninErrShow to display the stored burn-in error logs. The blade burn-in error logs are saved in
/var/log/verify.slot files. On fixed port-count products, the slot defaults to 0.
Use the diagStopBurnin command to terminate the test.
The command monitors the testing and terminates the burn-in activity if all the elements fail. Each
failing slot outputs only the first observed failure. Because this monitoring is a polling activity, the
command number output may not be the exact command number that failed.
The burninStatus command output displays the current status along with the burninErrShow
messages for the failing slots. If all slots pass, only the burninStatus command output displays.
The tests run in the background and continue to do so even if the initiating terminal is lost or
closed. To restart the systemVerification command, wait for the tests to complete or use the
diagStopBurnin command to abort the current test.
The burn-in tests are designed to operate with switches connected to a fabric and restrict the
frame loopback to inside the unit. If loopback plugs are installed in all ports, you can change the
burn-in parameter min_lb_mode to 1 to test the Fibre Channel through the loopback plug.
Notes The switch must be offline for this command to run.
It is important to clear the burn-in error log space before starting systemVerification by running the
burninErrClear command. This ensures that all diagnostic messages created during the burn-in run
are captured in the burn-in error log.
Do not perform any configuration changes such as configUpload or configDownload while the
systemVerification test is in progress.
The execution of this command is subject to Admin Domain restrictions that may be in place. Refer
to chapter 1, "Using Fabric OS commands" and Appendix A, "Command Availability" for details.
Operands This command has the following operands.
-parameters Invokes the diagSetCycle command before starting the burn-in run. This
allows you to modify the burn-in parameters prior to the run. These
diagSetCycle parameters are copied to all switches in the system and
override the original settings in the database. If the diagSetCycle parameters
