Chapter 19, Administering ISL Trunking
On page 430 change the second paragraph after Figure 47 to the following:
Connections between Brocade 300, 4020, 4024, 4044, 4100, 4900, 5100, 5300, 7500,
7600, 8000 switches, the Brocade 48000 using the FC4-16/32/48, FC4-16IP, FA4-18,
FC8-16/32/48, and FR4-18i blades, and the Brocade DCX using the FC8-16/32/48 and
FR4-18i blades support these advanced features:
On page 430 change the note in the middle of the page to the following:
NOTE
The CEE ports on the Brocade 8000 and the FC10-6 port blade do not support trunking.
Under the heading “Setting port speeds” on page 435, change the last sentence of the first
paragraph to the following:
On the Brocade 200E, 300, 4100, 4900, 5100, 5300, 8000, and 48000 platforms, for
long-distance ports, you should specify the port speed instead of setting it to autonegotiate.
In the procedure after Table 97 on page 436, change the description of speedlevel in step 2 to the
following:
At the top of page 437, change the description of speedlevel to the following:
In the second paragraph on page 439, change the second sentence to the following:
This feature supports the Brocade 300, 4100, 4900, 5000, 5100, 5300, 48000 and the DCX
enterprise-class platforms running Fabric OS v6.1.0 or higher, and the Brocade 8000 switch
running Fabric OS v6.1.2_cee.
speedlevel Specifies the speed of the link:
0—Autonegotiating mode. The port automatically configures for the highest speed.
1—one Gbps mode. Fixes the port at a speed of 1 Gbps. Changing the speed to one Gbps
causes the port to be excluded from the trunk group.
2—two Gbps mode. Fixes the port at a speed of 2 Gbps.
4—four Gbps mode. Fixes the port at a speed of 4 Gbps. (Brocade 200E, 4012, 4016, 4018,
4020, 4024, 4100, 4900, 5000, 7500, 7600, and 48000 only.)
8—eight Gbps mode. Fixes the port at a speed of 8 Gbps. (Brocade 48000, 5300, 5100, 300,
and DCX enterprise-class platforms with supported blades and 8 Gbps SFPs installed only.)
10—ten Gbps mode. Fixes the port at a speed of 10 Gbps. (Brocade 8000 only).
