Remote Communication Configuration
The remote communication configuration section lies between the [RemoteSA] and
[END] tags. Only the parameters in Table E-3 may be edited.
CAUTION Do not edit any other variables between [RemoteSA] and its [END] tag.
They are defined as follows:
IDS_CONNECT_TIMEOUT
The timeout value in seconds for the agent to complete a network
connection with the administration system.
IDS_READ_TIMEOUT
The timeout value in seconds for the agent to complete a network read
operation from the administration system.
IDS_WRITE_TIMEOUT
The timeout value in seconds for the agent to complete a network write
operation to the administration system.
IDS_SSL_TIMEOUT
The timeout value in seconds for the agent to complete a Secure
Sockets Layer handshake with the administration system.
REMOTEHOST
The IP address or host name associated with the administration
system's network interface card. This entry is set to the host name
passed to the IDS_importAgentKeys script when the script is run. See
“Configuring a Multihomed Administration System” on page 27 and
“Setting Up the HP-UX HIDS Secure Communications” on page 20
On a multihomed administration system (one with two or more IP
addresses), this is the address through which idsagent should
communicate with idsgui on the administration system. If a host
name is specified, it must resolve to a unique IP address for the
