To connect to a laptop using Bluetooth data connection
For best results, connect your HP iPAQ to the computer using a mini-USB (WMDC for Windows Vista
and ActiveSync for Windows XP) to establish a synchronization relationship before connecting via
Bluetooth.

Follow the instructions on your synchronization software help for configuring Bluetooth on your
computer.
To set up a Bluetooth modem connection:
1. Make sure that your HP iPAQ is not connected to your computer.
2. Tap Start > Programs > Internet Sharing.
3. Scroll and select Bluetooth PAN from the PC Connection list.
4. Scroll and select the type of GPRS connection you want to use from the Network Connection list.
5. Make your HP iPAQ visible and detectable. Connect the Bluetooth PAN to your computer and
create a partnership between them.
6. Press Connect after the partnership is established.
Pocket Internet Explorer
You can launch the Pocket Internet Explorer application by pressing the left softkey from the Today
screen. This application displays an HP iPAQ-customized home page with the following options:

iPAQ Software – Download software and games for your mobile device. Browse the site for the
newest updates and best software.
ł
HP Shopping – Buy desktops, laptops, printers, digital cameras, televisions, and ink and toner
cartridges direct from HP.
ł
iPAQ Mobile – Use this site for products, support, and other HP iPAQ information.
ł
iPAQ Accessories – Buy HP iPAQ handheld accessories direct from the HP Home & Home Office
Store.
ł
Windows Mobile – Learn more about Windows Mobile software.
NOTE: These options vary by country/region.
Each icon is linked to its respective Web page. Therefore, the appropriate Web page opens up when
you tap a desired icon.
You can also use Pocket Internet Explorer to view and download Web pages as well as browse Web
sites through synchronization, or when connected to the Internet. The HP iPAQ DataConnect
application detects the network settings and lets you connect to Internet Web sites.
To open a link using favorite page:
1. Tap Start > Programs > Internet Explorer or press the left softkey from the Today screen to open
Pocket Internet Explorer.
2. Tap Favorites and tap to open the required link.
3. Tap Menu > Favorites… to list all your favorite sites and tap Menu > Add To Favorites… to add
a new URL in your favorites list.
4. Tap Menu > Tools > History… to display the history.
