In addition to the parallel port, the HP LaserJet 9040/9050mfp
incorporates an embedded HP Jetdirect Fast Ethernet print server that
provides fast throughput speeds and enhanced security. With support
for most major network operating systems and protocols, it is the
simplest, most reliable method of sharing printing devices. Additional
network flexibility can be achieved with the optional HP Jetdirect
680n wireless internal print server for 802.11b capability.
Smart printing
HP Smart printing supplies ensure consistent, top-quality output over
the life of each print cartridge, and from cartridge to cartridge.
This advance printing technology is activated every time you install
an HP print cartridge into your MFP. With the HP print cartridge,
MFP and software that are designed to work together, you can
monitor your current supplies and print successfully every time.
Full-featured management software
HP Embedded Web Server provides a universal interface that
anyone with a network-connected PC and a standard Web browser
can easily access, as long as the MFP is connected to the network.
It allows you to view status information, set tray loads and
configurations, set network configurations, view and print internal
pages and receive status notifications without having to be at
the MFP’s control panel.
Also available is the HP Web Jetadmin

, a web-based peripheral
management utility for remotely installing, configuring and managing
a wide variety of HP and non-HP network peripherals. You can
easily install and update groups of devices as well as download
and update firmware or plug-ins. Advanced security features such
as support for Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and Simple Network
Management Protocol (SNMP) v3.0 ensure that your networked
devices are well protected.
