3. Select Sleep /Auto O After Inactivity, and enter the appropriate time period.
NOTE: In the European Union the Sleep /Auto O After Inactivity option is always enabled, and no
checkbox is available to turn it o.
NOTE: The sleep-mode default time is 0 minutes. The printer enters sleep mode immediately after each
job completes.
4. Select one of the wake options.
●
Wake on tray open: The printer wakes when someone opens one of the trays. With this setting, the
printer uses 1 watt or less of power while in the Sleep/Auto O state.
●
Wake on WiFi activity: The printer wakes when it receives a print job sent through the Wi-Fi
connection.
●
Wake on device USB activity: The printer wakes when it receives a print job through the USB port.
5. For greater energy savings, select the Shut down after inactivity option, and select a time period. The
printer completely shuts down after this period of inactivity.
Set the sleep schedule
Use the Sleep Schedule feature to congure the printer to automatically wake or go into Sleep/Auto O mode at
specic times on specic days of the week.
1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, swipe until the Settings menu displays. Touch the
Settings icon to open the menu.
2. Open the following menus:

Sleep Schedule
3. Touch the New Event button, and then select the type of event to schedule: Wake Event, Sleep Event, or
Holidays.
4. For a wake or sleep event, congure the time and the days of the week for the event.
For a holiday event, select the year, month, and date.
