Step 3: Installing the controller
1. Install the SAS controller in the chassis:
a. Squeeze the thumb latch on the controller and rotate the latch
handle down.
b. Slide the controller all of the way into the chassis. The latch
handle will automatically rotate up and click when locked into
place.
To make sure that the controller is fully seated, lightly push
up on the latch handle and push the controller body into the
chassis.
IMPORTANT:
As you insert the controller in the enclosure, keep it level
until it is completely installed. If the controller is tilted, it
may catch a component on the chassis edge and damage
the controller.
2. Connect S
AS cables to the SAS controller.
3. Power on t
he enclosure.
Verifying component status
• Verify that the SAS controller LED on the rear of the chassis is green.
• Verify that no error messages are displayed on the seven-segment
display.
