Firmware version change summary

The 1.0.1 release of HP StorageWorks 9100 Extreme Data Storage System contains updates to the

firmware of the following components:

• iLO: new version: 1.70—This is the minimum supported version. The integrated Lights Out (iLO)

is automatically updated as part of the update process.

• ExDS9100cc: new version: 1.26.2008120502—This is the minimum supported version. The

process is described in the update instructions.

• ExDS9100cx I/O module: new version: 1.28—The process is described in the update instructions.

NOTE:

This firmware must not be applied until after the ExDS9100cc firmware update process has

completed.

• Storage unit 1 TB disk drive: new version: HPD4—The process is described in the update instruc-

tions.

• SAS switch module management firmware: new version: 1.1.8.0—The process is described in

the update instructions.

Integrated Lights Out firmware version 1.70 changes since version 1.61

• Improved for OA-iLO communication paths to resolve transient connection issues

• SSH interface fixes to resolve iLO reset issue

• Addressed a possible iLO fatal exception after attempting upgrade

• Improved firmware upgrade process to prevent the application of an invalid iLO image if upgrade

is interrupted or fails to complete

• Unit initialization fixes to avoid unnecessary disk failure on startup

• Extended timeout and retry processing for unresponsive requests

• Fix to clear invalid ExDS9100cx partial flashes
