HP StorageWorks 9100 Extreme Data Storage System administration guide V1.0.2 (AN540-96018, February 2010)

These files are purely for installation demonstration purposes. You are expected to edit the httpd.conf
file to suit your application. Also, you can replace /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf with a link to
a different shared filesystem (or even revert to a server-private file in /etc/httpd/conf).
NOTE:
If you modify the DocumentRoot directive, make sure there is an index.html file with appropriate
permissions. When you restart Apache on every server, if the index.html file cannot be accessed,
the VHTTPD virtual hosts will not start.
NFS
See Modifying a VNFS configuration for instructions on how to modify the exs_expg_default export
group. For other export groups, use the mxconsole or mx(8) commands.
Changing network and system parameters
About the reconfigure system command
The exdsmgr reconfigure system command is menu-driven. After you make changes, the
changes do not take effect until you confirm the changes and exit to save updates. If you decide not
to change parameters, you can quit and discard your changes.
After you save your updates, the reconfigure system command starts a number of back-end
commands to implement your changes. The changes are made to all servers that are up at that time.
If a server is down at the time you run reconfigure system, the changes are made the next time
the server boots.
Some configuration changes (specifically, network interface changes) require that you reboot a server
after reconfiguration. You can control this with the reboot after reconfiguration option. If you set the
option to yes, the HP ExDS9100 system automatically reboots the server after reconfiguring the
server. This includes a server that was down at the time the exdsmgr reconfigure system
command was used. In this case, the next time the server boots, it reconfigures itself and then reboots
once more. However, if you set the option to no, the server does not reboot. You must manually reboot
the server. If you do not, the server will be out of sync with its peers.
To change the Matrix password, shutdown all but the first server and then run the exdsmgr
reconfigure system command.
Changing network interfaces
Configuring a network interface for the first time or reconfiguring an interface to use a different
IP address or netmask
NOTE:
All servers must have the same number of interfaces (for example, eth2, eth3, and so on.). You cannot
change IP addresses on the eth0 network. Do not configure a network on eth1.
