#exdsmgr shutdown server <number>
where <number> is the server blade number.
2. Remove the server blade.
3. Replace the P700m.
4. Replace the blade in the original blade bay. The server automatically boots.
5. Run exdsmgr show firmware and exdsmgr syscheck to validate the firmware version.
6. If the firmware is not correct, see Updating BIOS, iLO, E200i, and P700m firmware.
Replacing storage block parts
NOTE:
When you replace storage block components, it can take up to 10 minutes before the HP ExDS9100
system software rescans the hardware. Wait 10 minutes before running the exdsmgr syscheck
command. Alternatively, the exds_stdiag command can be run within 2 minutes of replacing a
component.

Replacing storage block hard disk drive
Replace a hard disk drive (HDD) when it is reported in the failed or predict-fail state. You
can identify the failed or predict-fail disk drives as follows:
• The exdsmgr show array <number> command shows the state of each disk drive.
• You may receive an alert when a disk drive changes state – you should run the exdsmgr syscheck
command to determine which disks have failed. The following are examples from the exdsmgr
alert history command:

• The exdsmgr syscheck command reports the failed or predict-fail state of every disk drive as
shown in the following example:
