Site Survey
The following pre-installation site survey is required for installing an HP
StorageWorks ESL9000 Series tape library for the following reasons:
■ Advance planning is necessary to ensure that the library can be received,
unpacked, moved to the installation site, and installed.
■ ESL9198: When crated, the library weighs approximately 1220 pounds (553
kg) when fully populated with 8 tape drives. It occupies a footprint of 48 x 48
inches (122 cm x 122 cm) and the height is 80 inches (203 cm).
■ ESL9322: When crated, the library weighs approximately 1307 pounds (593
kg) when fully populated with 8 tape drives. It occupies a footprint of 48 x 52
inches (122 cm x 133 cm) and the height is 80 inches (203 cm).
■ ESL9326: When crated, the library weighs approximately 1650 pounds (748
kg) when fully populated with 16 tape drives. It occupies a footprint of 48 x
68 inches (122 cm x 173 cm) and the height is 80 inches (203 cm).
■ ESL9595: When crated, the library weighs approximately 1822 pounds (826
kg) when fully populated with 16 tape drives. It occupies a footprint of 48 x
71 inches (122 cm x 181 cm) and the height is 80 inches (203).
■ The library is rated for 90-264 VAC~, 47-63 Hz, 16 A-8 A, 1600 W service
(1200 W for the ESL9198).
■ A dedicated outlet (Figure 1 on page 10) and a 20 A circuit breaker must
provide power to the library only. It is necessary to use a harmonized 3 x 1.5
mm

power cord that is approved by the associated country of use, and to
install the appropriate wall outlet.
