EVM Job Operations
Table 9–1 identifies the operations that can be used in an EVM job that involves
volume groups or domains.
NOTE: Operation verbs, storage system names, unit names, and host names are all case
sensitive. For instructions on using volume groups, refer to the online Help/User Guide. Also
refer to the appropriate EVM Host Agent Update Release Notes for any additional information.

EVM Operation Description
Clone Unit Purpose. Start a mirror copy of a specific source unit.
Output. Source unit is mirrored (an exact copy is made),
with the minimum required number of mirror members.
Remarks. Applies only to clones implemented by mirror
copy. Does not wait for completion before starting the next
operation.
Clone Volume Purpose. Start a mirror copy of the units that represent a
source volume.
Output. Source units are mirrored (exact copies are made),
with the minimum required number of mirror members.
Remarks. Applies only to clones implemented by mirror
copy. Does not wait for completion before starting the next
operation.
Delay Purpose. Pause for a specified time interval.
Output. User application is suspended on the specified host
and is resumed after the specified time interval.
Launch Purpose. Execute a specified executable on a specified
host.
Output. User application is initiated on the specified host.
Remarks. Place the
user command inside double quotes,
since this command may contain spaces and special
characters.
