Before removing the speaker, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC Adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 43).
5. Remove the following:
a. Hard drive (see
Hard drive on page 49)
b. Keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 57)
c. Switch cover (see
Switch cover on page 66)
d. Display assembly (see
Display assembly on page 77)
e. Top cover (see
Top cover on page 82)
f. Bluetooth module cable (see
Bluetooth module cable on page 87)
Remove the speaker:
1. Disconnect the speaker cable (1) from the system board.
2. Remove the Torx8 T8M2.5×7.0 screw (2) that secures the speaker to the base enclosure.
3. Remove the speaker (3) by lifting it straight up.
