5. In Choose group type, select the group that includes the
permission you want to add to the user.
6. Click the permission.
Yes displays in the Selected column to
indicate the user has that permission.
7. Click OK.
User options
The “/etc” directory and the “passwd” file contain a list of defined
users. You can use the
adduser command to perform the following:
adduser [OPTIONS] user_name
Option Definition
“-h DIR Assign home directory DIR
“-g GECOS Assign gecos field GECOS
“-s SHELL Assign login shell SHELL
“-G Add the user to existing group GROUP
“-S Create a system user (ignored)
“-D Do not assign a password (logins still
possible using ssh)
“-H Do not create the home directory
