Set Unload Mode
This option determines whether a SCSI MOVE MEDIUM command is
interpreted as implicit or explicit. If implicit, when the Base Module receives a
SCSI MOVE MEDIUM command for a fetch from a drive, it unloads the drive
before attempting to fetch a cartridge from that drive. If explicit, the host must
issue a SCSI UNLOAD command before each MOVE MEDIUM command
where the source element is a drive. The default is Implicit.
Set Auto Clean Mode
This function, when enabled, senses the tape drive’s cleaning request and after
the next unload, load a cleaning cartridge into the drive. After cleaning
completes, the cartridge is returned to the slot. The default is Disabled.
NOTE:
This function requires setting at least one reserved slot starting with the last slot
in the Expansion Unit (slot 15). If Multi-Unit, slot 9 for Base Module only.
Set Negotiation
This option enables the Base Module to initiate negotiations for synchronous
data transfer and wide data transfer from the host. Only models with a
fast/wide drive installed can initiate a ‘wide’ negotiation. The default is Do
Not Initiate.
Set Mail Slot
Some of the available host software enables the system administrator to limit
access to the MiniLibrary system as a whole while permitting insertion into or
removal from the MiniLibrary system of one or more tape cartridges when
needed. This feature is commonly called a mail slot. It is implemented using
SCSI import/export elements.
