Verifying or changing the XenDesktop Edition after
installation
Problem: If you add the upgrade license to the license server before you set the current edition to the new
upgrade edition, the Citrix product stops accepting new connections.
Solution: A utility provided by Citrix (ProductEdition.exe) is used to verify and change the edition after
installation. This utility is located in the default install path C:\Program Files\Citrix\Desktop Delivery
Controller.
The GETEDITION command parameter displays the current edition of the farm.
Example:
ProductEdition GETEDITION
The SETEDITION command parameter enables the farm edition to be changed or set.
The following Edition naming convention can be confirmed in the license file:
STD (Standard edition)
ADV (Advanced edition)
ENT (Enterprise edition)
The syntax of this command is:
ProductEdition SETEDITION EDITION=editionString
Example:
ProductEdition SETEDITION EDITION=ENT
