Management Protocol (SNMP). The graphical user interfaces (GUI) used to manage all C-series switches
is Cisco Data Center Network Manager (DCNM) and Cisco Device Manager.
HP StoreFabric SN8500C 8-slot 16Gb FC Director Introduction
The HP StoreFabric SN8500C 8-slot 16Gb FC Director is a high-performance SAN switch that is designed to meet the
requirements of enterprise data center storage environments. The HP StoreFabric SN8500C 8-slot 16Gb FC Director
includes the following components that are designed specifically for deployment in the HP StoreFabric SN8500C 8-
slot 16Gb FC director:
• A ten-slot chassis
• A crossbar switching fabric module
• A supervisor module
• A 48-Port 16-Gbps Fibre Channel switching module
The combination of these components, along with the underlying architecture of the HP StoreFabric SN8500C 8-slot
16Gb FC Director series, allows the HP StoreFabric SN8500C 8-slot 16Gb FC Director to deliver the following
features:
• High performance, with up to 24 Tbps of Fibre Channel switching bandwidth
• Reliability, high availability, and scalability through nondisruptive software upgrades, stateful process restart and
failover, and redundancy of all major components including:
– Hot-swappable redundant supervisor modules

HP StoreFabric SN8500C 48-port 16Gb FC Module
The HP StoreFabric SN8500C 48-port 16Gb FC Module is designed specifically for the HP StoreFabric SN8500C 8-
slot 16Gb FC Director. The HP StoreFabric SN8500C 8-slot 16Gb FC Director supports up to eight HP StoreFabric
SN8500C 48-port 16Gb FC modules. These modules are hot-swappable and compatible with 2-, 4-, 8-, 16- and 10-
Gbps interfaces, and they support hot-swappable Enhanced Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP+) transceivers.
The FC switching module has 12 4-port port groups. Each port group is capable of a speed of 64-Gbps in each
direction simultaneously. The ports of this switching module support expansion port (E port), fabric port (F port),
fabric loop port (FL port), SPAN destination port (SD port), and (TE port) port mode. Individual ports can be
configured with HP 16-Gbps, 8-Gbps or 10-Gbps shortwave or longwave SFP+ transceivers. Each port supports 500
buffer credits with no additional licensing required. With the Cisco Enterprise Package, up to 4095 buffer credits can
