Use image-processing features for fax send jobs
You can use the product to enhance outgoing faxed images in several ways.

Optimize faxes for text or pictures
●
Specify the number of sides for original documents for faxes
●
Select the resolution for faxes
●
Specify the size for original documents for faxes
●
Select notication options for faxes
●
Adjust sharpness for faxes
●
Adjust darkness for faxes
●
Adjust contrast for faxes
●
Clean up the background for faxes
●
Use the Job Build mode for faxes
●
Suppress blank pages for faxes
Optimize faxes for text or pictures
Optimize the fax job for the type of image being scanned: text, graphics, or photos.
1. From the Home screen on the product control panel, touch the Fax button.
2. Complete the elds on the rst screen to specify the fax recipient information.
3. Touch the More Options button at the bottom of the screen.
4. Touch the Optimize Text/Picture button.
NOTE: If the button is not on the rst page of options, touch the More Options button again.
5. Select one of the predened options, or touch the Manually adjust button and then adjust the slider in the
Optimize For area.
6. Touch the OK button to save the changes.
7. Touch the Start button to begin scanning.
Specify the number of sides for original documents for faxes
You can specify whether the original document is printed on one side or both sides. When you fax from the
document feeder, the product can automatically scan both sides without further interaction. When you fax from
the atbed glass and you indicate the original is printed on both sides, the product prompts you to turn the page
over after it scans the rst side.
1. From the Home screen on the product control panel, touch the Fax button.
2. Complete the elds on the rst screen to specify the fax recipient information.
3. Touch the More Options button at the bottom of the screen.
