Operating systems supported for the installer CD
The HP PCL 6 discrete driver and .NET 3.5 is installed for Windows® operating systems, the Mac
driver is installed for Mac operating systems
Windows® XP SP 2 or greater (32-bit)
Windows® Server 2003 SP 1 or greater (32 bit only)
NOTE: When installing with the Windows® Add Printer Wizard for XP or Server 2003,
select the following files from the root directory of the installer CD:
For HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 MFP M525, use hpcm525c.inf for a 32- bit installation and
hpcm525u.inf for a 64-bit installation.
For HP LaserJet Enterprise flow MFP M525, use hpcm52Xc.inf for a 32- bit installation and
hpcm52Xu.inf for a 64-bit installation.
Do not copy the driver files to a separate directory before installing. There may be hidden
files that are not correctly copied which may result in driver installation errors.

In Windows® operating systems, both the HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 MFP M525 and HP LaserJet
Enterprise flow MFP M525 print drivers support preconfiguration, automatic configuration, and driver
updates after installation.
NOTE: For additional information about installing the printing-system software, see the HP LaserJet
Enterprise 500 MFP M525 or HP LaserJet Enterprise flow MFP M525 Install Notes on the printing-
system software CD.
All of the drivers provide access to the paper-handling and print quality configuration settings
supported by this printer.

Most of the Windows® drivers are supported by Microsoft® 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. See
the list of supported operating systems for this product for a complete list. The HP PCL 6 discrete driver
is included on both the HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 MFP M525 and HP LaserJet Enterprise flow MFP
M525 printing-system software CDs. The PCL 5 Universal Print Driver, PCL6 Universal Print Driver, and
