HP PCL 6
Overall, the HP PCL 6 provides the best performance, print quality, and printer-feature support for most
users. The printer-driver aligns with the Windows graphic device interface (GDI) to optimize a computer's
performance in Windows environments.
NOTE: The HP PCL 6 may not be fully compatible with third-party and custom solutions that are based
on HP PCL 5.
Hybrid printing is possible only with the HP PCL 6 printer-driver. For a large print job, Hybrid printing
allows the print job to use the host memory to ensure quick and quality printing. The printer-driver can
be set to print each print job in Hybrid mode within the printer-driver Printing Preferences; however,
Hybrid printing is used automatically for the following applications:
