Paper size
Change the width and height values by typing numeric strings into the text boxes in the Paper Size
group box.
Any entry that is greater than the maximum limits of the width and height control is rounded down to the
maximum valid entry, while any entry that is smaller than the minimum limits of the width and height
control is rounded up to the minimum valid entry.
If units are in millimeters, the custom media-size range minimum is the limit rounded up to the nearest
whole millimeter. The custom media-size range maximum is the limit rounded down to the nearest whole
millimeter. Any non-numerical entry reverts to the last valid entry. Width and height entries are validated
when the focus has changed.
The resolution of each control is 1 millimeter or 1/10 of an inch, depending on the current measurement
units.
Units
To change measurement units, click one of the options in the Units group box (either the Inches or
Millimeters option).
Supported minimum and maximum custom media sizes
The minimum custom media size for the HP LaserJet M9040 MFP and HP LaserJet M9050 MFP is 98
x 191 mm (3.8 x 7.5 inches) and the maximum is 312 x 470 mm (12.3 x 18.5 inches). The following table
summarizes media size limits for each media-handling product.

Paper Source
The Paper Source drop-down menu lists all of the media sources for printing a document. The list of
source trays depends on the product accessories that are installed. Any optional source trays that are
installed through the Device Settings tab also appear here.
