USB printing
USB connectivity—Windows
98, Me, and 2000
You can connect the printer to your
computer with a USB cable. Use a USB
connection if:
Bluetooth wireless printing is not
supported on your computer (see
“Bluetooth wireless printing” on
page 6)
You want to change the printer’s
Bluetooth wireless settings
USB cables
A 1.8 m USB cable is included in the
box.
recommended setup
1. Verify that your computer is turned on,
then insert the HP printer software CD
into the computer’s CD-ROM drive.
If the CD does not auto-run, see
printer CD problems” on page 13.
2. Turn the latch on the printer’s Rear
Access Door to the left, then remove
the door from the printer.
3. Insert the Automatic Two-Sided
Printing Module into the back of the
printer until it snaps into place.
4. Connect the USB cable to the back of
your printer and to the back of the
computer.
5. Connect the power cord to the back
of the printer and to an electrical
outlet.
6. Load white paper into the paper tray.
7. Press the power button to turn the
printer on.
8. Install the print cartridges:
a. Open the top cover, then wait for
the print cartridge cradle to move
to the center of the printer.
b. Unpack the print cartridges, then
remove the vinyl tape from the ink
nozzles. (Do not touch the copper
strips on the cartridges.)
c. Raise the cradle latches, insert the
print cartridges into the print
cartridge cradle, then close the
cradle latches.
d. Close the top cover.
9. On your computer’s desktop, click
install HP Deskjet 995c series software,
then follow the onscreen instructions.
