TrafficIsolat
ion zones ov er FCR
This enhancement enables traffic isolation across EX ports and VEX ports. This benefits applications like
Tape Pipelining and Fast Write that traverse VE por ts where customers want to control the exact path
and ports tha
tareused.
Port Mirroring
Fabric OS 6.1.x adds support for Por t Mirroring to 8 Gb ports. The Port Mirroring feature mirrors traffic
in both directions between a source a nd destination ID pair to a single mirror por t. The user may
connect a FC analyzer to this mirror port to capture all the mirrored traffic and p erform troubleshooting
or other analysis.
Buffer credit recovery
FabricOS6.1.ximplementscreditrecoveryprotocolasdescribedinFC-FSstandards. Thisfeature
is supported only on E_Ports and allows switches to automatically recover buffer credits that were
accidenta
lly “lost” over time. Buffer credit recovery prevents link performance degradation that may
otherwis
eoccurduetolossofcreditsovertime.
Port Fencing
Fabric OS 6.1.x includes new Por t Fencing capabilities that can automatically isolate a por t that is
behaving outside the bounds of a normal, expected o p eration. This enhances overall stability of the fabric
in the event of an isolated event that cou ld otherwise cause a m ajor disruption if left unattended. The Port
Fencing capability is included as part of the op tionally licensed Fabric Watch feature.
LDAP
Fabric
OS 6.1.x includes enhancem ents to LDAP allowing Active Directory server roles to be mapped to
the various switch roles.
Sc ripting
Many automatic page b reaks in CLI output for commands have been removed to better facilitate scripting.
Notification of duplicate World Wide Name (WWN ) entry
RASLOG entry when a switch detects a duplicate WW N has logged in.
