Effective date July 2008 Description Fabric OS 6.1.0_8e1 is the initial release supporting the Brocade 8Gb SAN Switch for HP BladeSystem c-Class, (Brocade 5480). Update recommendations No update recommendations currently apply. This is the initial release of Fabric OS supporting the Brocade 8Gb SAN Switch for HP BladeSystem c-Class.
Supported product models EVA4400 embedded switch (5410) The EVA4400 embedded switch is a highly-available, redundant SAN switching solution embedded in the HP EVA 4400 disk array enclosure. The switch frees up critical rack space, and provides a reduction in cabling, while sharing the EVA’s power and cooling resources. Brocade Fabric OS 6.1.
Access Gateway support Access Gateway is supported with Fabric OS 6.1.0_8e1 in the following HP product only: Brocade 8Gb SAN Switch for HP BladeSystem c-Class (5480) Refer to the Brocade Access Gateway Administrator’s Guide available on http://www.hp.com/go/san for more information. New feature summaries This section lists Fabric OS 6.1.0_8e1 features and improvements. Fabric OS 6.1.0_8e1 integrates all features introduced in Fabric OS 6.1.x.
Secure Fabric OS (SFOS) update The last Fabric OS version compatible with SFOS is Fabric OS 5.3.x. All of the security features of SFOS have been fully integrated into the base Fabric OS beginning with Fabric OS 5.3.x and later. Prerequisites Table 1 summarizes current Fabric OS firmware versions. However, HP recommends using the latest supported firmware release versions to get the greatest benefit from the SAN.

For the EVA 4400 embedded switch (5410), which initially shipped with 6.1.0_8e; Fabric OS 6.1.
Additional Fabric OS 6.1.x enhancements Additional Fabric OS 6.1.x enhancements include: • New Fabric OS commands to rename an alias, a zone, and a zone configuration: • Zone –copy—Copies the zone object to a new zone object. • Zoneobjectrename—Renames the zone object. • Detects and handles a corrupted zone configuration [under /etc/fabos/zone*] gracefully, instead of rebooting. The switch also logs the error in RASLog.
