Description
Fabric OS 7.1.0_blv is a platform-specific release to exclusively support the Brocade 16Gb SAN
Switch for HP BladeSystem c-Class. Other than exceptions noted in these release notes, the Fabric
OS 7.1.0_blv release is functionally equivalent to Fabric OS 7.1.0b as it pertains to the HP
SN6000B 16Gb FC SAN Switch.
NOTE: Fabric OS 7.1.0_blv contains all supported features associated with Fabric OS 7.1.0b.
Brocade 16Gb SAN Switch for HP BladeSystem c-Class
The Brocade 16Gb SAN Switch for HP BladeSystem c-Class is a non-blocking embedded switch
with up to 12 external-facing Fibre Channel ports and up to 16 internal-facing Fibre Channel ports.
The Brocade 16Gb SAN Switch for HP BladeSystem c-Class simplifies the integration of a standard
network environment with a SAN-switched storage solution through its inclusion in the HP
BladeSystem c-Class C7000 Enclosure.
WARNING! Do not load Fabric OS 7.0.x, 7.1.x, 7.2.0 or any unsupported Fabric OS onto the
Brocade 16Gb SAN Switch for HP BladeSystem c-Class switch. Fabric OS 7.1.0_blv is the only
Fabric OS version supported on the Brocade 16Gb SAN Switch for HP BladeSystem c-Class switch.
Do not remove the default software licenses.
Fabric OS 7.1.0_blv is supported only on the Brocade 16Gb SAN Switch for HP BladeSystem
c-Class. Do not load Fabric OS 7.1.0_blv on to any other B-series switch.
Brocade 16Gb SAN Switch for HP BladeSystem c-Class Features
The following are specific features of the Brocade 16Gb SAN Switch for HP BladeSystem c-Class:
• Maximum of 28 FC ports (16 internal FC ports and 12 external FC ports) capable of running
at 16Gbs speeds
NOTE: The HP BladeSystem c7000 Platinum Enclosure is required to permit 16 Gbps speed.
Other HP BladeSystem c7000 Enclosures have a maximum speed of 8 Gbps.
• Maximum Switch Aggregate Duplex bandwidth of 896 Gbps
• Maximum ISL Trunk Bandwidth: 128 Gbps (each direction, full duplex)
• 0.74 µsec Frame latency providing fast FC switching
• Built on SN8000B/DC platform technology
• Dual-function capability (runs in default Access Gateway mode or optional Native Full Fabric
mode)
• Integrates with HP Onboard Administrator for BladeSystem, HP Systems Insight Manager, HP
Storage Essentials and leverages HP B-series management and monitoring tools. An SMI-s API
enables the use of industry standard interfaces to integrate management with other applications.
NOTE: The HP BladeSystem Onboard Administrator (OA) 4.0.1 is the minimum version
required when configuring a Brocade 16Gb SAN Switch for HP BladeSystem c-Class in an
HP BladeSystem c-Class C7000 Enclosure.
