HP StorageWorks Fabric Manager 5.X Release Notes (AA-RUR2F-TE, September 2005)
9Fabric Manager 5.x release notes
End-to-end
performance
monitoring for
FOS 4.1.2 to
4.2.2b
Issue: For switches running Fabric OS 4.1.2 to 4.2.2b, the PSD might crash after enabling
end-to-end performance monitoring from Fabric Manager 4.4 and later. This could lead to a
switch reboot or failover.
Workaround: Upgrade to Fabric OS versions later than 4.2.2b, 4.4.0d, or 5.0.1; or
disable end-to-end performance monitoring from Fabric Manager.
Fabric discovery If you use Fabric OS 4.4.0c or earlier 4.x releases as the launch switch, you do not see any
FDMI-capable devices in Fabric Manager for the fabric if the FDMI-capable devices are
configured with port attributes.
Firmware
download
Issue: Unable to import multiple firmware files simultaneously (15 or more) using firmware import
through the URL.
Workaround: Import multiple firmware files in smaller groups.
Fabric Manager
4.4 Solaris and
Mozilla
Fabric Manager 4.4.0 on Solaris is supported only by Mozilla.
Fabric Manager
upgrades on
Windows
Issue: When upgrading Fabric Manager from earlier releases, if the Fabric Manager Service is
not stopped, some files in Fabric Manager Server might be deleted upon reboot, causing the
Fabric Manager Server not to start. This occurs only on an upgrade install and is not seen on a
fresh install.
Workaround: On Windows platforms, before launching the installer software, as the
first step of the upgrade process, stop the Fabric Manager Service.
FTP server Issue: Built-in FTP server fails to start.
Workaround: If you enable the built-in FTP server, you must permanently disable the
external FTP server to prevent it from starting FTP service. If you do not disable external
FTP service, the built-in FTP server may not start, since port 21 is already occupied by
the external FTP service when the host is rebooted.
