HP StorageWorks Fabric Manager 5.X Release Notes (AA-RUR2F-TE, September 2005)

Important notes12
Solaris 9 Issue: Problem with the setting of PATH after Fabric Manager installation.
Workaround: Append :${PATH} to the end of the PATH definition in the
~./profile file and then execute bash --login or re-log in to the system.
SQL errors in
installer log file
The installer.log file reports a few errors that are not problems with the integrity of the
database. The only critical error message is Failed to connect to database. If you
receive this error, call support. All other SQL errors in the installer log file are expected and
harmless.
Subnet scan Issue: After you run a subnet scan, any subsequent subnet scans do not discover fabrics properly.
This problem has occurred only in Windows XP® Professional with SP2.
Workaround: Restart the Fabric Manager client and run a new subnet scan.
Switch icon colors For switches running Fabric OS 2.6.1e, their switch icons in Fabric Manager did not change
color correctly during status changes, especially when changing from a healthy state (color
should be green) to a user-induced disabled state (color should change to yellow).
Switch table view Issue: Devices continue to show Online, even though they may be offline when the launch
switch lost Ethernet connectivity.
Workaround: None
Topology When expanding or collapsing all link bundles in the core-edge topology view, the status bar
goes to or from 100% multiple times.
Two MP Routers Issue: Fabric membership is shown incorrectly on one of the MP Routers running XPath OS 7.3.0
if a 7.1.2x switch exists in the fabric.
Workaround: Reboot version 7.1.2b switch and fabric membership gets reflected
correctly in the 7.3.0 switch.
TXN key files Issue: Unable to open multiple TXN key files simultaneously on Solaris.
Workaround: In the file chooser dialog box, select multiple TXN key files and
double-click the selection.
Unable to set
end-to-end
monitors
Issue: You may be unable to set end-to-end monitors if the launch switch is running Fabric OS
4.1.0 through 4.2.x.
Workaround: Upgrade the launch switch to Fabric OS 4.4.0.
Valid password
characters
Fabric Manager does not allow the use of a backspace in switch passwords. A backspace is a
valid password character, however, in the CLI. If a switch requires a backspace in its password,
you cannot access the switch from Fabric Manager.
When switches
are missing in
Fabric Manager
Issue: Various anomalies when there are missing switches in the fabric.
Workaround: Delete switches with missing status and refresh the fabric. Take a new
baseline for change management to avoid notifications regarding ISL changes in the
fabric after the missing switch is removed from Fabric Manager.
