HP StorageWorks Fabric Manager 5.X Release Notes (AA-RUR2F-TE, September 2005)

Important notes10
HBA firmware
download
When using Fabric Manager to download firmware to the HBA, in some cases invalid firmware
files are downloaded to the HBA. This causes the operation to report that it has finished
successfully. The firmware, however, is corrupted when rebooted.
This is not an HP issue. The HBA does not discriminate and will load any files, even if
they are not meant to be loaded.
Issue: Firmware download does not work for certain earlier and unsupported versions of HBA
firmware, driver, and HBAnyware versions.
Workaround: Use the latest versions of HBA firmware, driver, and HBAnyware. The
following versions have been tested for HBA firmware download:
Windows:
Model–LP9002
Driver version V5-5.10a10-1 and V5-1.10a4
Firmware version 3.92A2
HBAnyware; current version included with the above driver package
Model–LP8000-V2
Driver version V5-5.10a10-1 and V5-1.10a4
Firmware version 3.92A2
HBAnyware; current version included with the above driver package
Solaris:
Model–LP9002
Driver version 6.00G
Firmware version 3.92A2
The Windows driver version that supports FDMI Hostname is 5-1.03A3 and
V5-1.10a4.
HBAnyware HBAnyware does not support more than 8 HBAs in the same host. More than 8 HBAs in the
same host causes intermittent firmware download failures, and can also cause the host to crash.
LSAN Info view Issue: Error code returned whenever user tries to open LSAN Info view for Fibre Channel routers
running XPath OS earlier than XPath OS 7.1.2c.
Workaround: Upgrade Fibre Channel Router to XPath OS 7.1.2c or later.
McData as launch
switch
Issue: Some features in Fabric Manager do not work after a McData switch becomes the launch
switch.
Workaround: Delete the fabric that is using the McData switch as the launch switch
and rediscover the fabric using an HP StorageWorks switch as the launch switch.
