Fabric Manager generates physical inventory reports in Microsoft Excel format. Reports can be generated
for:
All fabrics
Selected fabrics
Selected switches
To generate the Physical Inventory Report:
1. Select Reports > Physical Inventory Report.
The Physical Inventory Report window opens (see Figure 157).

2. Select whether to generate a report for all fabrics or for a specific fabric or switch:
To generate a summary report for all fabrics and switches, select All Fabrics.
To generate a summary report for a single fabric or switch, select Fabric or Switch and then enter its
IP, WWN, name, or domain.
3. Click OK.
The Microsoft Excel program is launched. Fabric information is gathered and displayed in the
spreadsheet. Reports are saved in the following directory:
<install_dir>\FabricManager\reports\excel\PhysicalInventoryExcelReport\reports\.
Generating reports outside Fabric Manager
Two scripts are installed with Fabric Manager that let you create the Fabric Summary and Physical
Inventory reports outside of the Fabric Manager client.
To generate the Fabric Summary report:
1. Change directory to <install_dir>\reports\excel.
2. Double-click FMExcelReport.exe.
The Fabric Manager Excel Report dialog box opens. See Figure 155 on page 220.
3. Select All Fabrics, Fabric, or Switch.
To generate a summary report for all fabrics, choose All Fabrics. Each fabric report is created in a
separate Excel worksheet in one file.
To generate a summary report for a single fabric, enter the switch IP, WWN, or fabric ID that identifies
the fabric.
