HP StorageWorks Fabric Manager 5.x Administrator Guide (AA-RUQSF-TE, September 2005)

184 Managing secure fabrics
Configuring FCS policy options
Switches in your Fabric Configuration Server (FCS) policy serve as trusted switches. The first switch listed in
the FCS switch list (see Figure 117) serves as the primary FCS (from which you can configure your fabric),
and any subsequent switches serve as a backup FCS. The order in which switches appear in the FCS
switch list represents a chain where each backup switch takes over as the primary FCS if the preceding
primary FCS fails.
To configure or edit the FCS policy:
1. From the SAN Elements tab, right-click the primary FCS switch of the secure fabric that you want to set
policies on and select Security > Security Policy Editor from the context menu.
The Policy Editor opens (see Figure 116 on page 183).
2. Select the FCS tab (see Figure 117).
All switches in the selected fabric are displayed in the Available Switch List, and the currently selected
FCS switches appear in the FCS Switch List.
SERIAL tab Grants access for individual switches to accept a serial connection in a secure
fabric. See ”Configuring serial and front panel policy options” on page 191 for
additional information.
FRONTPANEL tab Grants access for individual switches to accept configuration changes from the front
panel in a secure fabric. See ”Configuring serial and front panel policy options” on
page 191 for additional information.
Options tab Enables and disables no node WWN zoning. See ”Configuring no-node WWN
zoning” on page 193 for additional information.
Password tab Changes passwords for FCS switches and non-FCS switches. See ”Configuring
no-node WWN zoningon page 193 for additional information.
