5. Save the file in the same directory (with a different filename) to create a new configuration template. If
you save the file with these changes and do not change the filename, the existing configuration is
updated.
Using the switchAdmin role
In HP Fabric OS 5.0 and later, a switchAdmin role is supported. For more information on this role, see the
HP StorageWorks Fabric OS 5.x administrator guide.
Users belonging to the switchAdmin role can perform switch and other tasks just like a user with admin role
privileges, with the following exceptions:
Share devices wizard—no access
Enable and disable secure mode—no access
Security Policy editor—window opens in a read-only mode
In addition, users belonging to the switchAdmin role cannot perform the following switch or fabric
operations:
Zoning
Password change (for other users)
Security changes
Propagating RADIUS configuration across switches
Fabric OS supports RADIUS authentication, authorization, and accounting service (AAA). When
configured for RADIUS, the switch becomes a Network-attached Server (NAS) that acts as a RADIUS client.
In this configuration, authentication records are stored in the RADIUS host server database. Login and
logout account name, assigned role, and time accounting records are also stored on the RADIUS server.
You can replicate RADIUS AAA configuration across multiple switches for failover purposes.
If you are using Fabric OS 3.x, you can replicate AAA configuration only to switches with version 3.2 and
later. If you are using Fabric OS 4.4, you can replicate AAA configuration only to switches with version
4.4 and later.
To replicate RADIUS configuration:
1. Select Configuration > Replicate AAA Configuration.
The Replicate AAA Configuration wizard opens with an Overview that describes the steps to be
performed (see Figure 82).
