NOTE: The top cover kit includes the TouchPad assembly.

Before removing the top cover, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 37).
5. Remove the keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 52).
6. Remove the fan (see
Fan on page 55).
Remove the top cover:
1. Position the computer right-side up, with the display open.
2. Open the TouchPad cable ZIF connector (1) and disconnect the cable (2).
3. Open the TouchPad button cable ZIF connector (3) and disconnect the TouchPad button cable
(4).
4. Open the fingerprint reader cable ZIF connector (5) and disconnect the cable (6).
