Before removing the speakers, follow these steps:
1. Turn o the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is o or in Hibernation, turn the computer
on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by rst unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 25).
5. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 33).
Remove the speakers:
1. Disconnect the speaker cable (1) from the system board.
2. Release the speaker cable from the retention clips (1) and routing channel built into the keyboard/
top cover.
3. Release the adhesive (2) that secures the speaker cable to the system board.
4. Remove the three Phillips M2.0×4.2 screws (3) that secure the speakers to the base enclosure.
5. Remove the speakers (4).
Reverse this procedure to install the speakers.
