APPENDIX B. SAFETY AND REGULATORY INFORMATION
ESD Precautions
Static electricity can severely damage the electronic components on the modules. When handling and
installing the modules in your switch, follow these procedures to avoid damage from static electricity:
1. Handle the module by its bulkhead or edges and avoid touching the components and the circuitry
on the board.
2. When installing the module, equalize any static charge difference between your body and the
router by wearing a grounding wrist strap and attaching it to the router’s metal body, or by
frequently touching the router’s metal body.

Do not proceed beyond a WARNING or CAUTION notice until you have understood the hazardous
conditions and have taken appropriate steps.
Safety Instructions
When using this equipment, please follow these basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electrical
shock, or personal injury:
1. Do not use this product near water, such as a wash bowl, sink, or in a wet basement.
2. Avoid touching this product during an electrical storm. There is a remote risk of shock from
lightning.

4. The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
