1xSerial Interface Module

The 1xSerial Interface Module (see Figure 11) is user-configurable to be either a V.35 or an X.21 (V.11)

interface. This module supports rates up to a maximum of 10 Mbps. An additional V.35 or X.21 cable is

required (see Note, below). Refer to Table A-7 on page 45 for the Serial connector pinouts, and to Table A-12

on page 47 for the backup connector pinouts. An optional backup module is required for backup applications.

Caution

Cable length for the Serial Interface Module should not exceed 25 feet.

Note

Cables for the Serial module must be ordered separately: V.35 DTE (J8757A) or

X.21 DTE (J8755A).
