ip ospf authentication [message-digest | null]
Use the ip ospf authentication command to authenticate an interface that is performing OSPF
authentication.
Syntax Description
message-digest Optional. Select message-digest authentication type.
null Optional. Select for no authentication to be used.
Default Values
By default, this is set to null (meaning no authentication is used).
Command Modes
(config-interface)# Interface Configuration Mode
Valid interfaces include: Ethernet (eth 0/1), virtual PPP interfaces (ppp 1), virtual
Frame Relay sub-interfaces (fr 1.20), and loopback interfaces
Usage Examples
The following example specifies that no authentication will be used on the loopback interface:
(config-loop 1)#ip ospf authentication null
