spanning-tree bpdufilter [enable | disable]
Use the spanning-tree bpdufilter command to block BPDUs from being transmitted and received on this
interface. To return to the default value, use the no form of this command.
Syntax Description
enable Enable the BPDU filter.
disable Disable the BPDU filter.
Default Values
By default, this command is set to disable.
Command Modes
(config-interface)# Interface Configuration Mode
Valid interfaces include: Ethernet (eth 0/1), virtual PPP interfaces (ppp 1), virtual
Frame Relay sub-interfaces (fr 1.20), and atm sub-interfaces (1.2).
Functional Notes
The purpose of this command is to remove a port from participation in the spanning-tree. This might be
beneficial while debugging a network setup. It normally should not be used in a live network.
Usage Examples
The following example enables the bpdufilter on the interface:
(config)#interface ppp 1
(config-ppp 1)#spanning-tree bpdufilter enable
