loopback network [line | payload]
Use the loopback network command to initiate a loopback on the interface toward the network. Use the
no form of this command to deactivate the loopback.
Syntax Description
line Initiates a metallic loopback of the physical E1 network interface.
payload Initiates a loopback of the E1 framer (CSU portion) of the E1 network interface.
Default Values
No default necessary for this command.
Command Modes
(config-e1 1/1)# E1 or G.703 Interface Configuration Mode required.
(config-e1 1/2)#

Usage Examples
The following example initiates a line loopback of the G.703 interface:
(config)#interface e1 1/2
(config-e1 1/2)#loopback network line
