Command Reference
mtu (serial interface)
Purpose Use the mtu command to set MTU of the serial interface.
Use the undo mtu command to restore the default.
Syntax mtu size
undo mtu
Parameters size
MTU size of the serial interface (in bytes). Valid values
are 128 to 1500 bytes.
If no value is specified, the default is 1500 bytes.
Example Set MTU of the serial interface to 1200.
[3Com -Serial0/0/0] mtu 1200

■ AUX Interface view
■ AM Interface view
Description The MTU setting can affect the assembly and fragmentation of IP packets on the
interface.
