paritystripes.ARAID6volumeistolerantoftwodiskfailures.RAID6performancedependshighlyonthenumberof
disksusedinthevolume.Asmoredisksareusedinthevolume,performancewillincrease.Becausethecapacityoftwo
disksislosttoparitystripes,performancealsosuersinsmallRAID6volumes.Writesrequiretwoparityupdates(on
dierentdrives)tosurvivetwodiskfailures.Datacanbereadfromeachdiskindependently.ThemainadvantageofRAID
6isdataintegrity.
RAID 10–Createsamirrorofdrivepairs,andthenstripesthedataonthemirroredpairs.ARAID10mustcontaintwo
ormoredrivepairs,withafourdriveminimum.ARAID10isfaulttoleranttoonedrivepermirroredpair.RAID10,also
knowsasRAID1+0,combinestheexcellentperformanceofRAID0andtheredundancyofRAID1.Themainadvantage
ofRAID10isdataintegritywiththecapabilitytotolerateupto2diskfailuresaslongastheyarenotpartofthesame
mirrored set.
