What terminology do I need to know?

thearray.Twohotsparescanbedesignatedforonearray,ortwodierentarrayscaneachbedesignatedonehotspare.
What RAID congurations are available?
RAID 0–Createsasinglevolumethathasdatastripedacrosstwoormoredrives.Thesedrivesaretypicallyonone
controllerunlessControllerSpanningissupported.Thesizeofthevolumeisbasedonthesizeofthesmallestcapacity
drivetimesthenumberofdrivesintheRAID0conguration.RAID0isusedtoeitherimproveperformancesincedatacan
besenttomultipledrivesinparallelortocreatealargervolumeaseachdriveinthevolumeaddsadditionalcapacity.
ThereisnodataredundancyorparityinaRAID0conguration.IfanyharddrivememberinaRAID0congurationfails,
alldataislostfortheentirearray.ThemainadvantageofRAID0isperformanceandanincreasedvolumesize.
