monitoring, and management for Linux-based ProLiant server platforms. Built on the industry-leading HP
Systems Insight Manager framework, this solution integrates open source technology with experience
leveraged from HP's Linux products in HP ICLE and HP XC Clusters, while providing paths to the future
with developing management technologies.
HP Insight Control suites and most Insight software standalone products include a one year of 24 x 7 HP
Software Technical Support and Update Service ensuring rapid access to HP support staff and proactive

HP ProLiant Onboard
Administrator
HP ProLiant Onboard Administrator (powered by the Integrated Lights-Out 2 management processor)
simplifies server setup, health monitoring, power and thermal control, and lights-out remote administration
of ProLiant ML, DL, and BL servers. HP ProLiant Onboard Administrator functions without additional
software, and can be accessed from any location via a web browser. It works hand-in-hand with HP
Systems Insight Manager, Insight Control, and Insight Dynamics - VSE suite helping customers unlock the
value of the ProLiant platform and deliver the highest possible quality of IT service to the business.
Capabilities of the HP ProLiant Onboard Administrator embedded in ProLiant ML/DL servers include, but
are not limited to the following:
Rom-based Setup Utility (RBSU) and Option Rom Configuration for Arrays (ORCA)
IML and iLO event logging
Automatic Server Recovery (ASR)
OS independent hardware health status
Present server power consumption
Virtual Unit ID control
Remote serial console
Virtual power button control
Dynamic Sector Repairing (with Smart Array controller)
Drive Parameter Tracking (with Smart Array controller)
Hot Spare Boot
NOTE: Upon the event of a failed processor in a multi-processing environment, the system will
automatically reboot and attempt to use the remaining good processor.
