6.11 Creating a Backup at the Timestamp Level
This is a fully automatic backup for existing virtual copies to the media.
To backup at the timestamp level:
1 Locate the timestamp node you wish to backup in the left pane node tree, then select
Backup to Media.
a Right-click on the Timestamp Node and select Backup to Media.
b Click on the Backup icon in the tool bar.
c Select Backup to Media from the Actions drop-down menu on the menu bar.
Result: The backup dialog appears. However, the check box for Remove virtual copy from
InServ after NBU backup will be disabled.
NOTE: The Master Server Name, the NBU policy name and NBU Full Schedule
Name information will be saved and appear as default values in the next backup
and is at the database level, meaning that each database can have its own default
value set.
NOTE: While creating a backup at the database level, a Virtual Copy will be
created automatically and will be mounted prior to, and during the backup. After
the backup is completed, the Virtual Copy will be dismounted. If a Remove virtual
copy is performed from the InServ after the NBU backup, the virtual copy will be
retained after backup. Otherwise, it will be removed by default.
NOTE: No virtual copy will be created before the backup is performed or will be
removed after backup is completed.
NOTE: After the backup, the status of the virtual copy remains the same as before
the backup started.
