Unmounting a Virtual Copy

6.9 Unmounting a Virtual Copy
A virtual copy can be unmounted at the Instance or database level.
To unmount a Virtual Copy:
1 Click on the timestamp in the left pane node tree view, then either:
a Right-click on the database name and select Unmount …
b Click on the Unmount icon in the tool bar.
c Select Unmount … from the Actions drop-down menu on the menu bar.
Result: The list view in the right pane is updated for the unmounted virtual copy.
The virtual copy status (Exposure column) shows Not exposed.
Result: The icon for the unmounted Instance or database Virtual Copy turns blue.
6.10 Backing Up a Virtual Copy Using Veritas NetBackup
Recovery Manager allows backup Virtual Copies to media using Veritas NetBackup.
To backup a virtual copy using NetBackup, you must first configure Veritas NetBackup as
described in Chapter 4, Configuring NetBackup for Recovery Manager.
A backup can be done on Instance or database levels or at the timestamp level. A new virtual
copy will be created to backup on either instance or database level. An existing virtual copy
can also be backed up with the timestamp associated to the virtual copy.
NOTE: Mounting to the drive letter is not currently supported.
