6.5 Setting the Recovery Manager Policy Configuration
Recovery Manager provides a policy setting feature that allows you to set the maximum
number of virtual copies permitted for each instance or its database for the selected Microsoft
SQL Server.
By default, Recovery Manager allows a maximum of 10 virtual copies per instance or per
database. When the 11th Virtual Copy creation is attempted, the default behavior is to retain
the oldest Virtual Copy and not allow the creation of a new virtual copy.
NOTE: After a SQL instance is successfully registered, if you alter that instance's
configuration (such as creating a new database under that instance), the instance
must be rescanned. To rescan the instance, right-click on MS SQL Server and
select Rescan Server Configuration.
