■ Microsoft SQL Server offline backup.
■ VSS backup types “Incremental,” “Differential,” “Copy,” and “Log”.
■ All backup tools excluding Veritas NetBackup.
■ Access to 3PAR InServ Storage Server via SSH.
■ Management of different versions of Microsoft SQL server from the same Recovery
Manager backup server.
■ Interoperability between Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008.
For example, a virtual copy created under Windows 2003 cannot be mounted to a Windows
2008 target host. A virtual copy created under Windows 2008 cannot be mounted to a
Windows 2003 target host.
■ Taking a snapshot of the SQL servers created with the SQL Server Authentication setting.
3PAR only supports SQL servers created with the Windows Authentication setting.
■ Taking a snapshot of a database residing on a network mapped volume.
NOTE: Due to an SQL instance limitation, it is recommended that you do not
create snapshot backups of more than 35 databases at a time. Please see
