Chapter 13 Monitoring Event Logs
SNMP
SNMP Traps—The Clean Access Servers can be configured to send traps by adding trap sinks. A
trap sink is any computer configured to receive traps, typically a management box. All traps sent are
version 1 (v1) traps. A copy of each trap will be sent to each trapsink.
When enabled, the SNMP module monitors the following processes:
SSH Daemon
Java Process
Apache Web Server process
Clean Access Server
The Clean Access Server also sends traps in the following cases:
When Clean Access Server shuts down.
When Clean Access Server becomes Active.
When Clean Access Server becomes Standby.
When there is Linkup and Linkdown of interfaces.
When disk utilization crosses the threshold.
When the SNMP service starts (a Cold Start Trap is sent).
When the swap partition free space falls below the threshold.
Note When management VLAN is set for CAS Eth0 interface, the SNMP management for CAS is not
supported. In Virtual Gateway mode, it is mandatory to set the management VLAN. Hence SNMP
management for CAS is not supported in the Virtual Gateway mode.
