Message Possible Cause Possible Solutions
ECG too noisy to store
(This message appears briefly on the
screen)
Poor electrode contact. Dry or dirty elec-
trodes.
Patient moving or not relaxed.
Lead wires may be picking up interfer-
ence from poorly grounded equipment
near the patient.
Patient cable is too close to the cardio-
graph or other power cords.
Use new electrodes. Abrade skin. Reap-
ply electrodes. Check expiration date on
disposable electrodes.
Reassure and relax the patient. Press the
key if it is configured for Arti-
fact.
Route lead wires along limbs and away
from other electrical equipment. Fix or
move poorly grounded equipment.
Move the cardiograph away from the
patient. Unplug the cardiograph and oper-
ate on battery power. Move other electri-
cal equipment away from patient. Unplug
electric bed.
"Storage system full" message appears
when fewer than 30 ECGs are stored.
30 ECGs stored in memory.
Storage memory gradually wears out
after many thousand store/erase cycles.
Consequently, ECG storage capacity
decreases gradually over the life of the
product.
Delete some ECGs.
If under warranty, call HP service. Gener-
ally, stored ECGs are retrievable. If
remaining ECG storage capacity is unac-
ceptable, call HP service.
